Founded by Dave Hull, a former network security analyst at a research university in the midwestern United States. Trusted Signal helps businesses employ defense-in-depth strategies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of their information assets.
Before joining the university information security team, Hull worked in a variety of technology positions including database and system administration, and software engineering. While working as a member of a software engineering team developing cutting edge networking tools and applications, members of the team discovered a technique for performing passive OS fingerprinting by analyzing DHCP packets. Details of the technique were published in the February 2005 issue of Sys Admin magazine. The article will soon be available in the Publications section of the site.
One of our core values is the belief that we can only do well by doing good. That's why we contribute to the information security community, provide financial support to the Electronic Frontier Foundation and contribute code to the Free and Open Source software movements. We support the work of Lawrence Lessig and the Creative Commons and we oppose innovation stifling software patents.
